The Skydiver's Question

A new group of skydivers were on their way up for their first jump.  One nervous jumper asked his instructor: “ Tell me again, what do I do if my parachute fails to open?”

“Never fear,” said the instructor: “you just pull your reserve ripcord and it will open and save you.

The nervous jumper then asked “But how much time do I have to do that?”

The instructor replied: “Never fear.  You have your whole lifetime.”
